B2B Marketing Blog

Free good content and in different media. Something for B2B Marketeers to benchmark

This week has been a busy one but I managed to read something quite interesting from Jamie Turner from the 60 Second marketeer. (Quite appropriate for the moment – literally 60 seconds short)

I really like Jamie’s style and more importantly how smooth he goes about his marketing tactics. In the marketing world and social media scene we are always talking about “start adding value” and “give something first”.

Well… Jamie does that very smoothly. Let me dissect the email I received from him:

    1. Timely email talking about a Coca cola case study. Which I opened (see sample email here)
    2. No heavy images, Some bolding throughout, bullets and straigth to the case study ( No pushy sales)
    3. At the bottom he shares additional content that is of real value most importantly free.
    4. Followed by the social media share links
    5. Simple and clear

My conclusion

My conclusion is based on the actions I took with that email and what I subsequently have done with it.

One of the docs I downloaded was “Understanding the social media ROI cycle” which was presented in three forms. A blog, through slide share and finally another version in You Tube. Which I found very engaging and user friendly.

I then went back to the email and double checked another link that caught my attention but couldn’t be bother to check, but after seeing the first link I thought that I would give it a chance. The piece was about “99 tools to help you make money with social media” which I found very useful too.

Finally went and used the twit button and shared it with my community.

Ahh and then it prompted me to write this blog.

This in my opinion is great marketing from another fellow marketeer, and something that we should all learn from by taking action. We see it all the time in the books, webinars, blogs and stuff that we are constantly exposed to. However it is not always that we see it being implemented.

Now let’s spend that extra hour or more in our next email campaign. Benchmark from this or from the latest event you attended, it will definitely be worth it.
